Former manor Marfino, is an original monument of Russian architecture of the XVIII - XIX centuries, is located 39 kilometers far from Dmitrov highway. Glorified at the time of the palace and park ensemble, magnificent receptions and theater performances, the estate Marfino and today represents one of the great pages in the history of Russian architecture.

Known from the XVI century, covered with legends, Marfino way or another connected with the names of prominent public figures - B. Golitsyn, Saltykov, Panin - and representatives of Russian culture - N. Karamzin, F. Vigel and many others.

Creators Marfinskaya ensemble were talented serf masters V. Belozerov, F. Tugarov and outstanding Russian architect M. Bykovsky, demonstrating the diversity of talents and uncommon skill.

In the center on a high hill stands a two-storey palace. Toothed ridges, pinnacles, lancet windows make it look like a medieval castle. Before the palace instead of the usual front yard - a huge pond, which are grouped around the main buildings of the estate. From the center of the pond of the palace terrace down wide stone staircase ending marina. On the left is an unusual bridge with battlements - the original main entrance to the estate, for which the two churches can be seen to the right stretches a picturesque park with pavilions. Well seen and economic yard. Complementing each other, these buildings evoke the feeling of fabulousness.

Manor Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built on the project Vasily Belozerov. The architecture of the church is quite original: a cruciform shape with eight multi-faceted windows and stone carvings on the outer walls. The temple is crowned with high cylinder drum and dome.

After the revolution Marfino been occupied by military sanatorium and was rebuilt. And now, the architectural ensemble of the estate requires restoration.
