Vladimirskie Shopping malls are located on Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street, is a major and one of the oldest. Previously, it was called the Great in the early 17th century was part of the tract "Vladimirka" coming from Moscow, and the main street of the city.
Vladimir bargaining in ancient times was located in the place where today is the building of the House of Officers. In the 17th century there was a white stone church of the Exaltation of the tendering, built in 1218. By the early 18th century, bargaining has shifted to the western part of the city, for spanning the natural moat trade bridge. Wood trade structure more than once burned. That is why the authors of the first general plan of the city of Vladimir, which was approved in 1781 by Catherine II, proposed to build a stone Gostiny Dvor, which was supposed to be decorating the city's main street and occupy a whole block.
Construction of retail series conducted since 1787 at the expense of and by order of Vladimir merchants. At the time, the governor of Vladimir was PG Lazarev - the father of the famous navigator, MP Lazarev. Location was commercially very advantageous. Gathered together, the merchants decided to build the Vladimir Vladimir stone bench in spite of the general plan of going to the trade bridge to the Golden Gate.
Shopping malls in the plan had the shape of a quadrangle with a wide open space inside, where until the 1960s, was the central market. The arched galleries with building facades located retail shops. Architectural style unity construction after several reorganizations was lost. It has survived only the southern part of the shopping arcades.
Presumably the building project Trading Rows in classical style was designed by architect Nicholas von Burke, who at the time was engaged in a regular plan of building the city. As a prototype of the building made the gallery in St. Petersburg Gostiny Dvor.
In 1790 it was completed the first line that runs along the central streets and Tsaritsyn. In 1791, the mall has worked 51 shop, where they sold all sorts of goods from shoes and clothing to food. Trade rows located behind piazza with shops and boutiques. There could be reached through the opening in the shopping malls by the Great Moscow streets, which is popularly called "old wives' Gate."
In 1792 we started the construction of the north wing, where they were to stay in flour and butchers, a draft of which was made by the architect IA Chistyakov.
In 1913, the east wing was attached to the two-storey rotunda designed by SM Zharov, a variety of architectural and stylistic character of the building. Arcature series facade echoed the columns of the portico of the church of St. Nicholas Zlatovratski (before our time has not survived), as well as the house of the Noble Assembly (now the Officers' House), which stood on the same side of the street.
Above "womanish gate" in the late 19th - early 20th centuries was located first provincial library. It existed only on private donations. The library occupied two rooms. Here there is also a reading room. In 1908 the library was transferred to the house of P. Ilyin.
In 1911, the owners of the trading house "Boyarinov and Kuznetsov" it was decided to rebuild their shops, located in the front lines of trade rows. Merchants stopped on the project by architect S. Zharov. Thus there was a two-story store, which is also called the residents of Vladimir "bricks" - the appearance of the building - in the decoration storefront used glazed bricks.
In 1914, VA Peter, the owner of the corner shop at Tsaritsyn shopping street, too, decided to rebuild the business premises of the project by the same architect. Vladimirec and found this shop its name. Due to the round tower, which was decorated with bas-reliefs, this shop called "round GUM" (today - a "House of clothing").
During the expansion of the Great Moscow streets, conducted in the years 1950-1952 most of the series lost its arkaturno clearance. Disassemble and the northern part of the Trading Rows.
Currently Shopping malls continue to fulfill its original function. It planned to restore the northern parts. Today, the Vladimir Shopping malls are the biggest shopping mall of the city and the region, with an area of over 30,000 square meters, besides it is an architectural monument of local importance.
