Waterfall Gorica is located at the northern foot of Rila Mountain, near Ovchartsi - a small village in western Bulgaria. About the name of the waterfall locals tell an interesting legend. It is associated with a young girl and her beloved Gorizia Jovica. Gorica was a real beauty - all in beautiful countryside. The governor wanted to make her his wife. He ordered his servants to kidnap her. The girl managed to escape, she was hoping to find shelter in the mountains, but the Turks caught up with her. To again be captured, Gorica rushed into the river from a high cliff. In honor of the girl and was named the waterfall.
