Kastelfeder - it's an interesting protected area is located above the town of Ora in the town of Montagna in South Tyrol. It is ideal for walking and recreation, which is famous for its unique landscapes, known as the "Tyrolean Arcade." On the territory of Kastelfeder can find ponds and marshes, intricate rock formations and the ruins of an ancient castle, which gave the name to the entire area. This castle was built by the Byzantines in the Middle Ages as a fortress, standing on top of a hill at an altitude of 190 meters above sea level.

Kastelfeder attracts large and small adventurers, fans of hiking and rock climbers, who can find interesting sites. During the walk you can find a variety of animals, however, often come across goats. From the top of the hill on which the castle stands, a beautiful view on the Valle dell 'Adige on Oltradidzhe, Appiano and Caldaro until salorno. And throughout the area are scattered numerous archaeological sites, finds that date back to the second millennium BC, and small churches, from time immemorial considered sacred. The most prominent is the chapel of St. Barbara 6th century.

Due to the composition of the local soil, flora Kastelfeder is quite unusual and is represented mostly shrubs, such as sub-Mediterranean nizkostvolnika. There are also upstream and downstream meadow marshes that affect travelers with its vegetation.
