Museum of the History of the resort town of Sochi is one of the oldest cultural institutions and especially local history museum of the city of Sochi. The museum was founded in July 1920 as a regional museum of Sochi. The museum building was built in 1936 in neo-classical style and reflects the culture and identity of urban planning at the time.

To date, the Museum of the History of the resort town of Sochi existing stationary exhibition reflecting the history of the city of Sochi and the Black Sea coast, from ancient times to the present. The exposition is located in 14 halls. It contains over four thousand unique exhibits, including cultural objects of everyday life and ethnography of the multinational population of the region, archaeological finds, various documents and photographs. A separate section is devoted to the history of the city as a resort and the theme "Sochi - the capital of the Russian resorts."

The hall "Archaeological sites in the region of Sochi Sochi" you can see rare artifacts from the Stone Age and the Middle Ages. Also represented military equipment, old Caucasian firearms and cold steel, clothing, kitchen utensils, everything that reflects the history and life of the Circassians - the indigenous population of this area.

The exhibition "Natural recreational resources of the region of Sochi» is created and shaped solid picture of the local flora and fauna. In the hall of "Nature of the Western Caucasus" Visitors can get acquainted with the variety of flora and fauna. Here is a mountainous zone, coniferous and mixed forests, alpine and sub-alpine meadows at all heights of the Caucasus. The scenic dioramas placed different kinds of animals.
