Churilovsky Monastery of St. George (sometimes also called Igumen or George Monastery) is located on the southern slope of the mountain fenced near the village Churilov. It is assumed that it was founded in the XIV century and revived in 1858. It has survived a decree of Sultan Abdul Majid about the "expansion and the construction of" the Church of St. George, published March 5, 1857.

Information on the construction of the monastery scientists draw from the inscriptions found. Two of them said that the March 10, 1858 carried out the reconstruction of the church, and the third is about erected in 1870, the bell tower. In addition, the texts referred to the old church, which once stood on the site of the present church. Also, a list of names and rector ktitorov allocated funds for its construction and rehabilitation.

Collegiate Church, named in honor of St. George, is a nave psevdobaziliku open porch, located on the west side, and hung from the southern and northern sides. This massive stone structure, which reaches 24 meters in length and 12 - in width. Of interest are preserved frescoes of 1858 and especially the scene "Judgment Day," "Ordeal of the soul" that adorn the walls of the porch. Church of St. George awarded the status of cultural monument of national importance.

According to legend, the construction of the monastery began in 1848. In the possession of the monastery is about 10 thousand sq. M. meters of land on which the old buildings of religious schools (survived two classrooms), the refectory and kitchen, church, steeple, butchery, yards, fields and gardens.
