Sochi National Park is one of the oldest parks, which were created in the country. The park is located in the northwest of the Greater Caucasus. It was created in 1983 to restore and preserve natural complexes and objects with high scientific, recreational and environmental value. The total area of ​​the park about 194 thous. Ha.

Total on the territory of the Sochi National Park flow 40 streams and rivers, the longest of them - Psou, Shahe, Mzymta. In streams and rivers there are many waterfalls and canyons. Also in the park are located interesting karst formations - the famous Ahunskie and Vorontsov Caves.

The national park widespread forest with a predominance of beech east, silver-gray trunks that reach a height of 50 m. About a quarter of the forested area is occupied by oak plantations, they are mainly in the warm and dry southern slopes. Only in the Caucasus in the wild grows sweet chestnut (European), which is a relict species. Very picturesque look boxwood plantings. Moss gives a fantastic view of the forest of the unusually green kingdom.

The fauna of the Sochi National Park has more than 70 species, including brown bear, lynx, deer, roe deer European and Caucasian, otter, marten and many others. Valuable and rare species of animals and plants listed in the International Red Book.
