Located in Toledo historic synagogue is a symbol of prosperity of the Jewish people in the region, as well as a true masterpiece of Spanish architecture of the Middle Ages. Construction of the synagogue, carrying the name del Transito, refers to 1356. The building is a prime example of Jewish art in Spain, it is so amazing wealth of finishing, both internal and external, that it can be compared to the Reales Alcázares and the Alhambra in Granada. The synagogue building is faced with polychrome stucco and abounds created in Hebrew inscriptions praising God and King, as well as a variety of quotes from the Psalms. The interior walls of the building are decorated with ornate designs and sophisticated decorations made of cedar ceiling height of 12 meters encrusted with mother of pearl items. Inside the synagogue is located Sephardic Museum, where visitors can get acquainted with the history of the Jewish people, who lived in Spain and see the works of Jewish art, manuscripts and ritual objects.
