Anatomical Museum was founded in 1924 by Carl Gustav Jung on the basis of separation of the Medical Faculty of the University of the oldest Swiss city of Basel. The museum presents interesting anatomical exhibits, restored with modern methods, for example, the skeleton, the prepared Andreas Fezalem even in 1543.

The museum has a large collection of historically valuable, even unique exhibits, which played an important role in the development of anatomical science. Permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions provide visitors to the museum, as well as medical students, conductors in a fascinating journey through the human body.

The exhibits in the museum are systematized so that the transition from one to the other, you can explore the work of many systems of the human body. For example, the exhibits section "system of blood vessels," located next to the model of the heart, and the model section "The human nervous system" - close to the brain. Rod models that can be explored personally, allow nearly all consider and understand the principles of the human body. Also, since 1850, the museum is a collection of wax models.

The museum is one of 40 museums and other cultural institutions in the city participating in the event "Night of Museums", held in Basel each year.
