Teide National Park

Around three million years ago, a huge volcano located near Mount Teide, but much more it exploded and collapsed. The walls of the crater, or what was left of them, formed a caldera, which now are Mount Teide and other volcanoes.

At the top of the Teide can be reached by cable car. In a strong wind the cable car is not working, and in the high season (summer) is going to the big stage. On top of the mountain is a metal cross. In good weather, from the top you can see all the islands of the archipelago and even North Africa.

The road crosses the national park from the southwest to the northeast. Along the route are many viewing platforms where you can stop and admire the fabulous scenery that inspired the creators more than once a science fiction movie, filmed here his paintings.
