Krimmlskim waterfalls
   Photo: Krimmlskim waterfalls

Famous Krimmlskim waterfalls are located in the northwestern part of the National Park Hohe Tauern on the border between Salzburg and Tyrol 55 km from Zell am See. Waterfalls creek forms Krimmler Ache flowing glacier with the same name with a height of 3000 meters. The water rushes down to the three stages (total height of 380 meters). In the winter the waterfalls freeze.

Flowing bodies of water are broken down into a myriad of sprays, so the air is constantly wet. This creates favorable conditions for the growth of many species of rare mosses. For example, on the gray stones in the crevices of rocks rising glowing moss, it has the ability to reflect light.
