National Park "Freycinet" is located 125 km from Hobart on the eponymous peninsula, named after the French explorer Louis de Freycinet, on the east coast of Tasmania. On the border of the national park is a small settlement Coles Bay, and is the largest nearby city - Swansea. The park was founded in 1916 and today is the oldest national park of Tasmania along with the national park "Mount Field."

The park consists of a rugged coastline and closed bay Vaynglass whose beaches many times among the top ten in the world. Famous objects park are rock formations of red and pink granite and stretching in a number of jagged peaks, known as "Danger".

Among the inhabitants of the park you can find different kinds of possums, flying squirrel, echidnas, wombats, Pygmy Possum, bolsheuhuyu rat kangaroo rat and the long-nosed potoru. Once a common species of these places was the Tasmanian devil, but today the population of the marsupial has fallen sharply because of the poorly known virus killing animals. The park - a paradise for bird watching: especially fortunate can not see white-bellied sea eagle, soaring in height, and a huge Australian cormorant dives into the ocean waters in search of food.

Fans of outdoor activities will find plenty of opportunities for yourself: you can go on a sightseeing trip in ideal form bay Vaynglass or embark on a three-day path of the peninsula Freycinet, wander through friendly beach, which became part of the park in 1992, take a dip in the crystal clear waters and watch wildlife park.
