Aquarium Gdynia - urban public Aquarium and the Maritime Museum at the National Institute of Fisheries and Fisheries in Gdynia. Aquarium has the status of a zoological garden.

The museum was opened on June 21, 1971, though attempts to create such an institution date back to the 30s of the twentieth century. Most living organisms for the aquarium collected by local scientists, merchant seaman. Since its opening, the Aquarium is constantly evolving, various exhibitions.

The museum houses about 1,500 living organisms from all over the world, including 250 species of animals, 142 species of fish, 3 species of amphibians, 12 species of reptiles, 58 species of invertebrates. The most interesting inhabitants include variegated shark and the electric eel. If you're lucky, you can witness how unique fish spits water at a distance of fifty centimeters, to bring down their prey. The unfortunate insect falls into the water and becomes a victim of this clever fish. Another attraction of the Aquarium is a live coral reef, located in the tank emkostyu3000 liters. Here you can see dozens of species of hard corals, soft corals and invertebrates, some of whom are giant octopus.

In 2005, the Aquarium opened a cinema, as well as laboratories with modern microscopes for research. Currently Aquarium plans to expand its exhibition space.
