Mount Dombay-Ulgen is the highest, majestic and beautiful peaks of the Western Caucasus. The height of the mountain - 4046 m above sea level. The top of the mountain is covered with glaciers and eternal snows, composed of granites, gneisses and schists. In the language of the indigenous inhabitants of the name of the mountain Dombai-Ulgen means "the place where the dead bison." Rocky and powerful array of Dombay-Ulgen consists of three gray tops: Home (4045 m), east (3950 m) and west (4036 m), which draw the silhouette of a large frozen "bison", dying among the dense forests of the Caucasian and cold rocks.
The most picturesque view of Dombay-Ulgen opens with the famous Dombai clearing, located at an altitude of 1650 m above sea level and formed at the intersection of three valleys: Dombai, Alibek, Dombay-Ёlgena and Amanauz.
