Monument balalaika Bezhetsk was established September 23, 2011 at the beginning of the linden alley. This event was timed to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding musician, a native of this place, VV Andreev, who opened the world balalaika - primordially Russian musical instrument by which it has become the unofficial symbol of Russia. It was on the ground at V.Andreeva Bezhetskaya the idea to improve the Russian balalaika.

Because of Bezhetsk balalaika started its triumphal march across the expanses of Russia and foreign countries. Bezhetskaya balalaika applauded throughout the world. Therefore bezhechane, rightly, proud of their distinguished history and illustrious compatriots.

The monument was erected with funds allocated from the local budget of the city administration and sponsorship of the tourist agency "raft tour." The idea to establish a monument in Bezhetsk balalaika belongs to Irina Solovyova, who runs travel company Bezhetskaya "raft tour." The idea was fully supported by its regional authorities, and nearly half of all the organizational issues were settled. Manufacturing of monuments of wood involved Tutaevsky (Yaroslavl region) master of woodcarving: Gridnev Alexey and Ilya Maslov.

The opening ceremony of the monument was opened balalaika folk theater theatrical performance "Jokers" (directed by Nina Gorev). At the opening of the monument in Bezhetsk attended by numerous guests, among whom were representatives of the association of tourism, the Tourism Committee of the Tver region. At a meeting in the framework of celebrations "round table", they discussed the importance of the balalaika in the history of Russian culture in general and in particular Bezhetskaya land and development Bezhetsk tourist area called "Bezhetskiy top."

The celebrations culminated in a concert, which was attended by artists from Yaroslavl, Moscow, Bezhetsk, Dmitrov and other cities and sounded Russian folk, ethnic and folk instrumental music.
