Art Museum in the resort town of Atami is a private cultural institution. It was founded in 1982. The organization Mokichi Okada Assotiation (MOA) with the aim to perpetuate the cultural heritage of their spiritual leader and social activist Mokichi Okada, who was born in the end of XIX century and died in the middle of the XX century. The members of the MOA are adherents of Shinto.

Activities Mokichi Okada was a very versatile - it has contributed to the development of philosophy, medicine, agriculture, and even the art of making bouquets. In addition, he collected various works of art and tried to make them accessible to all. Objects that are in the museum collection in Atami MOA, as well as in the Art Museum of the city of Hakone. MOA also hosts art exhibitions, educational activities, assisting talented artists and gifted children, is involved in international cultural exchange.

MOA Museum has a rich collection of works of national art, which includes objects of pottery, lacquer miniature, ksilogravyury, calligraphy, porcelain and sculptures. Many of the exhibits have the status of national treasures.

In the museum are representations of theater and tea ceremonies are held for tourists.

Atami is known for its hot springs, the symbol of the city is a hot geyser spouting from the ground in a park near the railway station. In 1923, because of the earthquake source water ceased to come to the surface, and in 1962 had to use pumping equipment to power scored again. Guests also attracted plum garden of 730 trees, which bloom in December.
