There are monuments in Russia, near which becomes warm, cozy and quiet as a child. One of these monuments adorn the city of Ulyanovsk. August 1, 2008 in the park down the street Goncharova was the opening of the monument popularly beloved TV presenter "Aunt Valya".

Valentina Leontyev - a native of the city of Leningrad, in 1941, fleeing from starvation, along with her sister went to the village Novosyolky Ulyanovsk region. After the war Valentina left to enter the theater school in Moscow. In his native village, she has returned to the People's Artist of the USSR, winner of the National Television Award "Taffy", a woman in TV vnёsshey human warmth and kindness, and the darling of an idol to millions of children and adults. Valentine Leontiev remained in the memory of the whole country as the host of the program "Visiting a fairy tale", "Good night, kids", and an older generation of people - brilliant leading popular programs: "With all my heart" and "blue fire". On the day of opening of the monument she would have turned 85 years old.

The author of the monument - sculptor Nikolai Antsiferov - portrayed the slender, elegant woman sitting in thought and staring into the distance. Sculpture made of bronze, the pedestal is made of granite and rare species, adding to the composition, opposite the monument to put table with glasses forgotten Aunt Wali with decorative benches. The sculpture is located in the square in front of the regional puppet theater named after VM Leontyeva.
