Opening Kirishi History Museum took place December 25, 1972, which coincided with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the USSR. The very first museum exhibition was presented to the visitors by the architect Victor Grinko and graphic artist Rakytskyy Boris, who were employees of a research organization under the name LVHPU Mukhina in St. Petersburg.

In the year of the 40th anniversary of the Great Victory, which had for 1985, all the exhibits historical museum were moved to a building located at Victory Avenue, 5.
