Slёnzha - mountain in the Sudetenland in Lower Silesia, located 30 kilometers from Wroclaw in southern Poland. This nature reserve is situated at an altitude of 718 meters and is covered with forests. On Mount Sleza built tourist hut and viewing platforms. Sleza Mountain is a protected area and is part of the landscape park of the same name. At the top is the church and the ruins of a medieval castle.
Even in the 7th century BC, Mount Sleza was considered a sacred place of pagan tribes of the Lusatian culture. Scientists believe that mentioned in Germanic mythology characters lived in these mountains. Slavic tribes settled here in the 6th century AD. In the tenth century Mieszko I of the Piast dynasty brought the Sudeten part of Silesia. In the first half of the 12th century, the Polish prince Peter Vlostovich founded the Augustinian monastery in the mountains, who moved to Wroclaw in 1153.
In 1954 Sleza received the status of Landscape Reserve, an area of 141 hectares.
Because of the proximity of Wroclaw (30 km) and Świdnica (17 km) to the top of various cultural events, especially during the Christmas holidays. The array is covered by an extensive network of hiking trails and bicycle paths. At the top of the telecommunications mast height is 136 meters, barely visible ruins of the castle, the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and an observation deck with stunning views of the Silesian Lowland.
