Trinity Cathedral in Maikop - one of the architectural landmarks of the city. The Cathedral has a very interesting and long history.

In February 1881 the inhabitants of the western part of Maikop, gathered at a public gathering, discussed the construction of the church, as the temples were only in the city center and other parts of it. In May, it was reported that the construction of the church began without the permission of the diocesan authorities. As a result, the consistory decided to ask the local police department to forbid collegiate assessor GA Kovalenko to continue construction of the temple, otherwise it will attract to justice.

In May 1882 Kovalenko once again sends a request to the bishop for permission to build a new church, pinning him to the drafting and budget. Then the Caucasian spiritual consistory still gave permission for the construction of the church. In October 1882, a solemn ceremony was held in honor of the laying of the Life-Giving Trinity. But due to lack of funds from the construction of the temple congregation it ended only in 1888. The consecration of the monastery took place on March 12, 1889

The walls of the church were built of brick, laid on a stone foundation. The building had five Deaf wooden domes, the roof was covered with iron. Installed on the four pillars of the bell tower housed separately from the temple. Around the church was painted wooden fence. Temple had one throne, consecrated in the name of the Holy Trinity. In 1900, the church was built the refectory.

In 1937 the church was closed. In 1943, during the German occupation, it was open and never closed. In 1994, Trinity Church was the cathedral again created Maikop, Armavir diocese. In 1999, the temple built a new altar, and in 2001 the bell tower. In 2004 it built auxiliary building. In 2006, it completed construction of the baptismal Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, and a year later was built office. Also in 2007, for the six bells of the Cathedral produced that same year was consecrated and installed in the bell tower of the church.
