Lola is located in the central part of the district of Faro. This small town was founded in 1266. Weekly fairs that are held there, attracting tourists from all over the Algarve.

The architecture of the city, especially in its central part, shows the influence of Moorish culture. In the north of the city castle was built by the Arabs, rebuilt in the XIII century. With its walls offer a view of the city. In the monastery of the Holy Spirit is the City Art Gallery. It draws attention to the Church of St. Clement, which is in the middle of a small park. The church has two side chapels of the XVI century, decorated with panels of azulezush also preserved the nave with Gothic ceilings. Church of Mercy draws interesting portal in Manueline style, and the church of the Virgin Mary Konseysanu you can admire the baroque altar of the work of Miguel Nobre, decorated with scenes from azulezush.

The visiting card of the city is the City Market, Mercado Municipal, which was opened in early 2007, after a long reconstruction. In the market, local farmers sell fruits, vegetables and fish. You can watch how weaved wicker baskets, made harness and horseshoe. Another city famous for natural gypsy market which operates on Saturday mornings.

The most famous and bright holiday not only in Loulé and the Algarve, but also in Portugal, is considered to be a carnival, during which closed the main street of the city. Carnival lasts for three days, starting on the third day of the carnival in February, and is somewhat reminiscent of the Brazilian carnival, when people go out into the street to look at extending a colorful procession and listen to the music and join the dance.
