The peasant estate "GLIMS" You can learn about the history of the Finnish peasantry. Having "GLIMS", located in the village of Karvasmyaki, it was created in the Middle Ages. The first owner of the estate in 1540, according to legend, was Peder Nielsen. Having "GLIMS" was not only the peasant estate, and an inn on the Royal Route and the official residence of lensmana (police officer). The last owners of the estate was a family Lёnnbergov (from 1800 to 1949.).
In 1958, the estate turned into a museum, which naturally reflects peasant life in Finland in the Middle Ages. All the buildings in the area of the museum, which recreates the life of the XIX century, except for one, are in their original location.
