Ring of green space around the historic neighborhoods of Pilsen appeared not so long ago: in the early XIX century. Then the city council decided that the bulky fortifications surrounding the city center, have already served and will no longer be useful. Two rows of fortress walls were demolished and a moat, is an additional protection of the city, was filled. At this point, and there was a park, consisting of several gardens, each of which has its own name. Krizik Gardens got its name in honor of the famous engineer, a talented inventor, a native of this area František Křižík. It was his Singing fountains can be seen on the left bank of Prague. He is also known for being able to improve the electric tram, making it more comfortable.
Strolling through the shaded gardens, alley, you may notice a modest bust Křižík installed next to the panel, which indicates his name. Since gardens are bounded on one side of the building, and on the other a bustling avenue, they consist of only a few footpaths decorated with delicate pavilions and wooden benches. The pride of the recreation area are shallow ponds, which are home to carp. They can be fed with bread, do not forget to make a wish. Local residents believe that it will come true.
Another local attraction is possible to note the open area "Proluka", which is never empty at the weekend. It usually perform folk groups. Also for the youngest viewers in Krizik gardens are fabulous performances.
