Akshardham Temple, located in Gandhinagar, is one of the largest in the entire Indian state of Gujarat. This is a complex, which is not only important religious building, but also plays an important role as a cultural, scientific and research center, where people come not only to pray, but also to visit the exhibition, seminars, to learn something new.

Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar was established only recently - in 1992, and is a kind of precursor of the famous Delhi Akshardhama, which was built by the same religious organization Bochasanvasi Akshara-Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha.

The complex consists of the temple itself, a huge garden and research center. Akshardhama main attraction is considered to be a two-meter gilded statue of the Hindu god Shvaminarayana so-called Murthy. It is located in the center of a kind of temple pavilion, the construction of which has gone about six thousand tons of pink sandstone. It has a height of 33 meters, a length of 73 meters and a width - 40 meters. A colonnade, built around stretches for 534 meters.

The beautiful garden, which houses the temple, called Saradzhanand Van and represents a mix of lush gardens and a children's park. It has rides, lake and waterfall.

On the territory of the research center is a large library, archive and educational section. Also, there are several exhibitions, acting on a permanent basis: Sahadzhanand, Sat-Chit-Anand, Nityananda, where you can see paintings, photographs, dioramas, watch films on India.
