Solid chapel, called Bethlehem, owned by the Methodist Church and located on the street Husova trzhida - in the part where once there is a bus station.
Methodist Evangelical Church was founded in the early XX century in the United States. Its representatives appeared in the Czech Republic after World War I and immediately gained a lot of weight in Pilsen. In 1926, the first stone was laid in the foundation of the Bethlehem Chapel. The architect of the future temple was made by Josef Blecha. He made every effort to speed up construction, so it was completed a year later. Further development of the evangelical church in the territory of Pilsen region was halted by the global economic crisis, when the higher church hierarchy simply afraid to invest in the construction of new churches and educate the congregation, which was abroad.
After the Second World War, the Bethlehem chapel at the evangelicals has selected state. The original building was perfect for administrative purposes, so it gave the college of engineering and electronics. In the chapel for many years located rector and the Department of Marxism-Leninism of the institution.
The Methodists were able to re-enter under the arch of its chapel only in 1991. By this time the Evangelical Church was not so rich, so the reconstruction of the temple because of the lack of funds dragged on for almost 10 years. In 2002, the chapel was used for worship. It is open most of the day, so visit it will have no difficulty.
