Basilica of the Virgin Mary - a Baroque cathedral, located not far from the Table Vambezhitse year. Vambezhitse - the so-called "Silesian Jerusalem". This is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in southern Poland. Currently, there are about a hundred hours.
According to legend, here in the 12th century it was the blind Jan Virgin Mary, after which he received his sight. Quickly became an attractive place for pilgrims. Soon, under the tree has been erected an altar, and in 1263 built the first wooden church. In 1512 there was a brick church. Construction of the baroque cathedral began in 1715. The works were financed by the local nobleman Franz Anton von Gottsenom.
For the temple is a monumental stone staircase of 56 steps, 33 of which are in the middle symbolize the years of Jesus' life on earth.
