Palace Estate Gagarina located at Cape Plaka, in a shady park area. It has a gabled roof, narrow windows and a lot of towers, the architectural style it is similar to the Castle of the Knights. This palace was built in the early XX century on the orders of Princess Anastasia Gagarin. Above the door of the main entrance weighs coat of arms Gagarin kind with a Latin inscription: "In ancient times - the force."
The princess lived in solitude, totally immersed in their efforts. After the death of her husband of Princess Gagarina no longer married. In 1902, when the princess turned 70, she was invited by the famous architect Krasnov for the construction of a new palace and the home church of Alexander Nevsky.
Having built the castle, the princess has performed together with her late husband's dream. But in 1907, just after the completion of construction, the princess died, never having lived in the new palace. She was buried in the courtyard of the Alexander Nevsky church.
After the death of Princess Gagarina, inherited the palace was handed over to her niece, Princess Elena Tarkhan-Mouravi. After the revolution, the palace became the home of a room of rest, and the rest of his life princess lived in a former palace. At the opening of centers Princess Elena gave him a large library. In 1922, Elena Tarkhan-Mouravi died and was buried in the churchyard next to Princess Gagarina. A large library disappeared during the Nazi occupation.
Besides the palace Princess Gagarin built a hospital in memory of her husband, Alexander Ivanovich Gagarin. Here the princess at his own expense contained medical staff and a good physician who has provided free medical care to residents nearby settlements.
From the castle, along the wonderful flower alleys you can reach the church of Alexander Nevsky, and after going a little further to go to Cape Plaka. At the Cape the remains of the tomb Borozdin. On the flat top of the cape offers a magnificent view. Climb to the top of the cellar. From the top you can see the sea, Ayu-Dag and the bay. The sight is breathtaking.
If you walk in the direction of the Ayu-Dag on the wonderful park that belongs to the sanatorium "Utes", which merges with the park area sanatorium "Karasan" then you can go to the amazing palace Rajewski.
