In Yalta is a unique architectural monument of the XV century - the abode of the mendicant friars of the Muslim religion, Tekke Dervishes. It is the only surviving intact monument of its kind in the former Soviet Union.
The complex consists of three buildings: the actual Tekke, mosques and madrasas. Tekke is characterized by simplicity of its monumental forms, lack of ornamentation on the façade and inside. Inside the monastery located on the perimeter of one-story vaulted cells dervishes. Rooms dark and close, ground floor. The lancet doorway each cell goes into the hall. The building blocked flattened dome with a tiled roof. In addition to habitat Dervish Tekke also served as a hospice house.
From the west to the Tekke much later it was added a small mosque Shukurala Efendi, which now resemble the walls and located at the east wall partially collapsed minaret. Next to the mosque is a building madrassas, which after the restoration is located museum of Crimean Tatar culture.
Having existed for 300 years, during the persecution of religion in the 1930s Tekie was closed, and until recently was used as a storage area of the Black Sea Fleet. During this period, the building Tekie and madrasas in general survived, while the mosque was half destroyed. In the last few years building Tekie was carried out minor repairs, but full restoration is still not done.
