Casa Calvet - a house, designed by Antoni Gaudí for the textile industrialist, which was intended for the living, and for doing business in part of the premises. Construction of the house Calvet was conducted from 1998 to 1900.

Calvet House - is a reflection of two architectural styles of the time - Baroque and Art Nouveau .  The facade tightly sandwiched between two adjacent facades and at first glance looks pretty ordinary .  But upon closer examination looms original architecture, typical of the author .  Facade elements, it would seem at first glance, randomly located, actually it has a special meaning and thought out to the smallest detail by the author .  So, on the first floor of a building designed by the architect of the arch, pilasters between which, in its original form resembling a textile bobbins .  Above the entrance to the house is located on the second floor bay window, which is supported by sophisticated, sculpturally made bracket, the main part of which is shown in the form of a slender cypress, symbol of the Catalan hospitality .  Also, first floor of the building is decorated with a sculpture of the letters "C" - the first letter of the name of the house owner, as well as the coat of arms of Catalonia, an olive branch and a cornucopia of the fungus relief, symbolizing the passion for botany owner .  Overall, the facade is symmetrical about its main axis vertical, bay windows of the building are harmoniously combined with graceful balconies, creating a sense of integrity of the entire architectural composition .  Light textured stone, from which the facade, as well as the elongated window and door openings and elegant wrought-iron lattice balconies and bay windows give the impression of openness and elegance throughout construction .

Noteworthy is the fact that in 1900, the Casa Calvet won the municipality of Barcelona as the best building of the year.
