Convent of Santa Clara in 1644 was founded by nuns from the Colombian city of Cartagena. He is considered one of the oldest among the religious buildings of Havana. Its original purpose - to teach in this building girls from poor families. Just then placed Charity Hospital. Then, later settled down here Ministry of Public Works, which operated until 1982. Then the monastery was returned to the historical status and its former greatness.
