The earliest mention of the Holy Trinity Monastery relate to 1412, as recorded in the Novgorod Chronicle. The very first church of the monastery was the Trinity Church on Klopske. It was built of wood in just 60 days and was a typical construction of Novgorod. During the construction of the sample has been taken St. Nicholas Church, located in the St. Nicholas Monastery Lyadsky. The temple was chetyrehstolpnym, cubic, had one apse, and one chapter. From the west to the building adjoined made of wood porch. After 7 years, the wooden church was replaced by a stone.

Throughout the 15th century the monastery was under the protection of the great princes of Moscow and was one of the important points of the spread of their power .  In the late 16th - early 17th century Trinity Monastery greatly strengthened their political and social situation, and it has become a prerequisite for the general construction activity and the formation of an entirely new ensemble of buildings .  Until 1569 Trinity Church was the only stone church, while others are available in the territory of the monastery buildings, such as the refectory, cells, fence and facilities for economic purposes were built exclusively of wood .  The Trinity church relics Reverend Father Michael of Klopsk Miracle Worker .  The temple was completely demolished .  In its place, according to the order of Ivan the Terrible built a big beautiful Cathedral .  There was arranged the coffin Michael of Klopsk .  Trinity Cathedral is a square, and had three chetyrehstolpnym reduced apse and three three-dimensional compositions, which differed significantly extraordinary monumentality .  One stylistic decision was reached by means of dividing the facades profiled blades, some strapped keeled arches .  In addition to the cathedral in the southern part of the monastery in the 16th century St. Nicholas Church was built, having a refectory .

In the early 17th century Swedish and Polish-Lithuanian wars considerably worsened the situation of the Trinity Monastery, since the monastery was captured by soldiers of Samuel Kovrin. In 1623 the monastery was again revived and was originally surrounded by a fence tynovoy. All have wooden buildings were made over the fence, which was a separate economic complex. In the northern part there is a second economic complex, which houses the abbot and brotherhood cells.

Throughout the 17th century there were serious restructuring related changes completions Nicholas Church, rasteski windows and restructuring of the chapels of the Trinity Cathedral. These alterations have resulted in a violation of the stylistic unity of churches, but the construction of a monumental fence with small towers to create the necessary finished look for the two sites. As a result, during the second half of the 17th - early 18th century was a fully formed new architectural complex. Holy Trinity Monastery has acquired the necessary clearance that was surrounded by a ring of large buildings.

In 1740 the monastery was created the cow and the stable yard. Over 1742 it was built windmills, which are located outside the fence. After some time, began to appear stone spaces intended for the abbot, residential building, Igumen cells.

In the late 18th century, the monastery has become a real construction site, because the work was in full swing here until the 20s of the 19th century.
