Frankopan Castle was rebuilt by Nikola Frankopan in 1412 of more ancient structures. Prior to that, there existed a castle, built in the XII century, the princes Frankopan.
From the fortress with little time remained, and at the beginning of the XV century Nikola Frankopan restored castle, and along the internal structures and the building of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the restoration of the castle was given to the monks of the Order of the Pauline. The monastery connected the nearby fishing villages and became the center of cultural and social life of the district. For a long time there was a children's home. Today the castle is fully renovated and converted into a hotel.
