Church Vlashka - is operating today with an old church cemetery, located in the historic center of Cetinje. It was built in 1450. Officially, the temple is called the Nativity of the Virgin. Because the two names can create confusion because of Cetinje is called Vlashka church, which stands on a hill chipurskom. The second church is the monastery of Cetinje.

The name "Vlashka" of the Church has received from the peoples who once lived here - Vlachs (or Wallachians), who were the East-Roman Orthodox population of the Balkans. Legend explains the name of the church that it was built in the middle of the XV century shepherds, as in Serbian "shepherds" is "vlasi".

The appearance of the church today, the merit of renovations carried out since the middle of the XIX century. However, in the church to this day preserved the unique frescos of the Greek school.

The cemetery surrounding the temple has a fence made of 2 million captured rifles produced during the Montenegrin-Turkish wars. In 1939, a monument was erected in front of the church "Soul Lovcen". This monument was erected in honor of those killed in the shipwreck of the Montenegrins, who were returning from the United States to their homeland in order to help fellow citizens in the First World War.
