State natural complex reserve "Pure Moss" was established in 1976. Reserve carries regional significance. Nature Reserve is located in Kirishi district of Leningrad region, to be exact, four kilometers southeast of the city of Kirishi. To get to the "Pure Moss" is possible from the city of St. Petersburg, before reaching Kirishi, and then by bus to the village Budogoshch - this place is the boundary of the nature reserve.

The purpose of the natural reserve of the complex was the preservation of valuable areas, accounting for bogs which are typical of the north-western part of the Russian Federation. This area is a unique place of scientific observations conducted here for a long period of time. All ongoing studies were carried marsh station at the State Hydrological Institute.

State control over the nature reserve is carried out in the name of the Government of the Leningrad region, and more specifically the Committee on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Leningrad Region that document certified by the decision of the Leningrad Region Government № 494 of December 26, 1996. The total area of ​​the state nature reserve "Pure Moss" is 6434 hectares.

Located on the territory of the marsh is composed of six sets, and extensive flow Marsh .  On the south side of the swamp, the area of ​​which is 3500 hectares, held Novgorod region - in these places some area is a part of another nature reserve "Bor" .  Toward the north bog system continues ridge-hollow swamp called moss Shirinsky extending just beyond the railway line .  The high slopes of the river valley Dubna and marsh island is densely planted with aspen, groves alternating with herbs such as lily of the valley, lungwort, amazing violet, and perlovnik letter .  The river valley is rich in oak, and the islands can often be seen growing limes .  Not only in the meadows, but in the forest zone grows a large number of species of orchids .  As for the rare species for this area, it is worth noting the Siberian lettuce, northern fighter and in the area of ​​finding the marsh systems in particular can often be seen sphagnum Lindbergh - a very rare and little common type of moss .  Nature Reserve is particularly rich in berries and mushrooms .

The fauna of the reserve "Pure Moss" for the most part, represented by marsh and forest bird species, among which the most common are: woodcock, snipe, Sandpiper, Common Snipe, and birds of prey, such as sparrow hawk, buzzard, goshawk, marsh harrier, honey buzzard and hobby. Equally important are regular meetings near the White River Golden Eagle. Despite the fact that the nearby nature reserve is the village and the town of Kirishi Pchevzha the territory can often see grouse, capercaillie, black grouse and ptarmigan. From the class of mammals is to provide a beaver that lives not only in the swamp, and forest area, as well as the wolf, bear, fox, wild boar, elk and marten. Among other things, is home to a lot of rodents and insectivores wildlife.

By carefully protected objects are natural reserve: Located on the island lime forest area marsh plant, rare species of animals and plants, for example, the northern fighter, Siberian lettuce, sphagnum Lindbergh, ptarmigan, and without exception, the variety of birds of prey.

The reserve "Pure Moss" is strictly prohibited any reclamation work, tapping trees, activity, resulting in possible violation of the hydrological regime of the marsh system, the use of pesticides and toxic chemicals, dele wastewater, mining, without excluding peat, as well as various kind of geological survey.
