Lumbarda - a small fishing village, which is home to about 1,200 people. It is located in the east of the island of Korcula, about five kilometers from the old town of Korcula. The village is built around a small bay and on the hills behind it, and is surrounded by a large number of vineyards. The road to Lumbarda passes through picturesque pine forests and olive groves.

The Greek settlement was formed here in the third century BC; finds from this period can be seen in the city museum of Korcula. North-east of Lumbarda near the beach Bilin Hall was a Roman villa. Since the 16th century prosperous Korcula landowners built summer houses here. They were located on the best plots of land around Lumbarda, some of them are still in good condition and inhabited.

Parish Church of St. Rock stands on Vela Glavica - hill in the middle of old Lumbarda, and in the village itself there is a small old chapel: St. Bartholomew, St. Peter's, Nativity of the Virgin. Church of the Holy Cross in 1774 has a characteristic porch, surrounded by vineyards.

For centuries, the people of Lumbarda were farmers, growers, fishermen and bricklayers. Hence the more prominent contemporary Croatian painters and sculptors: Ivo Lozica, Lujo Lozica, Stipe Nobilo and, most famously, Frano Krshinich who created the bronze Second World War Memorial in the center of the village and the bronze relief "Fishermen" nearby "Lumbarda".

In Lumbarda for tourists there are hotels, campsites, private pensions, restaurants, shops and a small marina. In the taverns and inns serve traditional dishes, such as fresh grilled fish, seasoned with olive oil, with a local white wine. There are around Lumbarda beautiful sandy beaches, which are very rare in the Adriatic Sea, as well as stone and pebble.
