Island Takvile of 5, 72 square kilometers located in the Lake Titicaca, 35 km from the city of Puno. Isle length of 5 km and a width of 1, 5 km has an elongated shape. To visit the island you can take a boat from the port of Puno and make on his way three-hour stopover to visit the floating Uros Islands.

In ancient times, the island was part of the Inca Empire. After the Spanish conquest of the island became the property of Count Roderigo of taqwa, the island was subsequently named after him.
