Amur Regional Museum, located in Blagoveshchensk on the corner of Lenin street and alley of St. Innocent, is one of the cultural highlights of the city and one of the oldest museums in the Far East.

Amur Regional Museum was founded in August 1891. At this time in Blagoveshchensk preparing for the arrival of the heir to the throne - the future Nicholas II. Gold Miners built on the banks of the Amur River Pavilion, where they were exposed to gold nuggets and samples of rocks, mines, and photo layouts. When the heir to the throne left Blagoveshchensk, all exhibits (other than gold) were handed over to the city and formed the basis for the collection of museum.

In 1995 the museum was named T.S.Novikova-Daur - known ethnographer of the Amur region, who worked at the museum for 34 years. Materials placed in 26 museum halls. The museum has more than 180 thous.
