Pitkäranta Local History Museum was founded in 1969, largely due to the activities of a school teacher and war veteran Vasily Fedorovich Sebino. Since 1965, the founder of the museum in the "Red Ranger" collecting historical documents and materials on military issues. Museum of military glory - that such status was at the opening of a museum and its first director was Vasiliy Fedorovich Sebino. In 1991, for the formal establishment of the museum of local lore.

Located in the town of Pitkyaranta museum, in a historic building, which has more than 90 years. The building, formerly owned by the pharmacist Valldenu, today is an architectural monument. When building was used by the Finnish style fundamentalism. The building forms a kind of ring through two stair descents, over which was erected a large balcony with a beautiful carved balustrade. During World War II the building housed the headquarters of Finland, which led to almost complete destruction of the building by the end of the war.

Major exhibition of contemporary Pitkarantsky museum consists of the following sections:
- "Winter War". On the tour you can see a panorama of hostilities of 1939-1940, photos of participants, as well as weapons and other front-line items;
- "The Great Patriotic War". This exhibition is dedicated to the liberation of the city from invaders Pitkyaranta. It also includes: information on the chief executive officer and founder of the museum, military documents, diagrams and maps of hostilities, personal belongings of participants of the war;
- "Heroes of our time". The exhibition is dedicated to the fallen heroes of wars in Afghanistan and Chechnya;
- "The natural world Ladoga region." The tour is about the flora and fauna of the district;
- "History of the plant - the city's history." Dedicated to tour the history of the construction and development of Pitkäranta mines and mining plants;
- "Ordinary Miracle long shore." The exhibition presents the work of craftsmen: embroidery, wood carving, products caps and bark.
And such exposure as "Cottage", "Kalevala Rune eyes of children", "Dolls - Bereguinias," "Legends of Pitkarantsky stones."

Since 2009, the museum implemented a historical project "The old house." As conceived by the employees, an ordinary museum should turn into an open-air exhibition in the museum-estate. The project is unique in the fact that the zone or household will revolutionize the available photographs and documents, ensuring complete restoration of the former beautiful views. Earlier on the land grew a magnificent orchard, which stood under the shade of a gazebo and benches. And in the park area were built terraces and flower beds, plants that wintered in the greenhouse warm home. Part of this splendor is preserved to this day.

The house is surrounded by pine everlasting, one of whom was a combat round, forked crown of the tree. "Tree of War" as an eternal reminder of the descendants of the old times, will take its place in the exposition. In the large meadow adjacent to the sides of the building, it survived only a few apple trees of the once magnificent garden.

According to the project in the restored park will be built rock garden that will become an extension of the existing museum exhibition "Legends Pitkarantsky stones." On one of the side margins will build a playground made of natural materials. The second is equipped for trade fairs and exhibitions of folk crafts in the open air. Return to place a gazebo and benches for rest during walks over time will grow an apple orchard.
