Regional Archaeological Museum, located in the city of Aosta, dedicated to the history of the autonomous Italian region of Val d'Aosta. Perhaps the most famous of its exhibits are "Balteo Bronzeo" - a bronze belt model of Augusta Pretoria, the predecessor of Aosta and numismatic collection Pautasso.

The building, which today houses the museum was built in 1633, the year. Then, when the family of Challand, there were barracks, later - Vizitadine Monastery and the 18th century building it acquired its present appearance. Part of the museum is located underground, where as a result of archeological excavations in the light were recovered fragments of the ancient Roman colony of Augusta Pretoria, including the south-eastern part of the east tower of Porta Princhipalis Sinistra, one of the four gates through which the entrance to the city, and section of an earthen embankment still supporting the walls of the city of Aosta.

All the exhibits are placed in chronological order .  The first thing visitors see - the ancient Assyrian tablets collected by Canon Boson searching on the banks of Tigris and Euphrates rivers .  There exhibited anthropomorphic figurines from the archaeological zone of Saint-Martin-de-Korlean and interesting reconstruction of Augusta Pretoria with explanatory cards .  A reconstruction of the ancient burial ritual objects can be seen funerary rite found in one of the tombs of the necropolis of San Rocco .  Other rooms are devoted to the tombstone inscriptions, and local religious cults - here exhibited "Balteo Bronzeo" and the miraculous statue of Jupiter .  Christianity is represented by the precious pulpit 6th century, discovered in excavations at Aosta Cathedral .  On the upper floors of the museum's exhibition halls are located, in which can be found, including a numismatic collection Pautasso - it collected coins from the period of ancient Greece to the reign of the House of Savoy .  Here are exposed Celtic, Gallic and Padua coins .
