A memorial chapel in Bologoe was built in 1912. Her appearance in the city was connected with the tragic events that took place February 20, 1911, when, during the presentation of the private cinema room there was a large fire. Flame covered all the wooden building. As a result, 64 people were killed, 40 of them - children. Many victims died in a fire and then burn. The victims of the fire was 101 people. The fire killed entire families. At night the dead served requiem. All gathered in the church crying, even the priests.

In memory of residents who died in a fire on the assembled townspeople money it was erected a memorial chapel, which is designed as a chapel rotunda in the classical style. The foundation of the chapel is made of four granite slabs and walls - brick, which focuses on a particular tragic event occurred.

According to the architectural plan of the chapel in some detail reminds Bologovsky Station. Stands out the massive vaulted arched openings projections windows with outer frame of light colors. The outer layer has a light yellow color, then follow the white and light brown, the inner brickwork is made of red brick.

On the north and south side, opposite each other are two windows. The third window - closed brickwork with figured brick cross. Window openings are decorated with small relief colonnade and portico. Entrance to the chapel - on tripartite stairs. Under the eaves of the double doors is a fresco depicting the Savior with two angels. Chetverik blocked cloistered helmet-hemispherical dome. All protruding elements of the chapel, including the dome and lined with iron. In the middle of the dome - metal cross. Along the perimeter of the base of the arch on the outside of the chapel is a decorative blind little window of brick. In all corners of the earth around the perimeter of the chapel was attached portals. Inside the chapel housed the icon of Kazan Mother of God and the Iberian and the Assumption of Mary, lamps, candlesticks, chandeliers.

In Soviet times the building was used as a chapel of a kerosene shop, and only in 1990, thanks to the efforts of railwaymen Prokofiev K. and E. Zaitseva Orthodox shrines restored. There was a major overhaul. Updated interior decoration. October 13, 1990 the chapel was consecrated again. Now, in the chapel commemorate all burnt in the fire, buried alive, killed in accidents, wars, disasters and other accidents. Church services are held weekly.

Memorial Chapel is today one of the attractions of Bologoye. The tacit patronage over this monument took Bologoe patriot and social activist AM World. On his initiative, recently installed a memorial plaque at the chapel, which was collected by means of "a world on a string." Money donated her usual bologovtsy.

December 3, 2012 was inaugurated a memorial plaque. Archpriest Father Basil, dean of Bologovsky District and father George, a cleric of Holy Trinity Church in the chapel served the memorial service for the victims of the tragedy of 1911, as well as a prayer for the health of all residents.
