Tibanish Convent or Monastery of St. Martin Tibanish, is located in the world-de Tibanish. It was founded in the VI century, but the original building was almost nothing left. In the XI century, the monastery was rebuilt, and in 1567 became home to the monks of the Benedictine Order.

The façade of the church of the monastery is made in the Rococo style and very colorful. Throughout the Middle Ages, after the kingdom of Portugal to defend its independence, the rich and vast estates, who were in the northern part of the country passed into the possession of the monastery. Restoration work carried out in the first covered galleries (the refectory and the tomb) and the church under the guidance of architects Mannerist Manuel Alvarez and Juan Turriano. By the beginning of the XVIII century it was completed gate of the monastery, the monks dormitory, guest house, a building for meetings and a library. The main altar and the wooden part of the triumphal arch of the main chapel, as well as the pulpit, and side altars are made in the style of Portuguese rococo. In 1864, the monastery and its surrounding land were auctioned off and gradually fell into disrepair. Most of the ensemble, including the refectory, was destroyed during a fire in 1894. In 1986, the monastery became state property and began vosstanavleniju this historic monument.
