The original technical monument is located in the Czech resort of Darkov, Karvina which is adjacent to and is part of it. This is an unusual arched bridge that connects the two banks of a small river Olshe. Until recently, the bridge was the road, but for some time now on it can move only cyclists and pedestrians, making the bridge extremely popular among the guests of the town Darkov. Because now you can stay right in the middle of the bridge, thoughtful look at the flowing river, feed the ducks, I do not fear that at this time you knock a car. The bridge was built in 1925 with the then innovative engineering solutions. It becomes clear what is at stake, if you pay attention to the unusual shape of the arches of the bridge.

In 1997, the water in the river Olshe risen to a very high level. In the city there was a flood, which significantly affected and supports the arch of the bridge. The city council has decided to complete reconstruction of the building. Repairs were carried out in the period from 2003 to 2005. Bridge completely rebuilt slightly raised above the river, so the next time the water in case of flooding does not touch the pavement.

The bridge is made very unusual. Its streamlined shape is so recognizable that the Czech government even issued a commemorative coin with his image.
