Stele Forest (Stone Forest) was opened in the city of Xi'an in 1944, during the reign of the imperial Song Dynasty. The museum has become widely known in the world and in China thanks to a rich collection of unusual stone columns. The museum houses more than a thousand columns with inscriptions from the time of the Han Dynasty (206-220 BC.) And to the period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912 gg.).

Area Museum - 31 thousand square meters. meters, and the whole territory is divided into seven exhibition halls. They demonstrated historical documents, stone carving, samples of ancient calligraphy.

The first room focuses on the texts of Confucius. Excerpts of these texts are on the 14 steles of stone. Among these works is the "Book of Changes", "Book of Songs", "Analects" of Confucius and other works. The inscriptions on the stones deposited more than 2 thousand years ago.

Exhibition hall №2 shows the stone stele, which show the best examples of calligraphy. The authors of these specimens are the famous calligraphic master, who lived during the reign of the imperial Tang Dynasty.

In the third room also presented calligraphic works. On the stelae of this department suffered text versions of classic calligraphy and hieroglyphics. Also presented different versions of fonts used in cursive documents, shorthand and longhand. These images give visitors a complete picture of how it developed Chinese writing.

In the fourth hall are stone sculptures. Then put more than 200 exhibits, created during the reign of the imperial Han Dynasty, that is 206-220 years.
