Agua Azul Cascades are about sixty kilometers from Palenque. The waterfall is located in the National Park, the entrance to which is paid.

Name cascades translated as "blue water". Local water really has an intense blue color and is rich in magnesium salts and other chlorides that come here from a supply source, flowing through the karst rock. Especially rich color becomes a waterfall in spring, when the rainy season ends. From May to September is poured heavy rains, the water at this time becomes turbid and acquires a yellow tint.

Agua Azul - a chain of several waterfalls flowing over one kilometer. The highest of the waterfalls - 6 meters. The largest and most beautiful waterfalls you will see almost at the entrance to the park. Around there are several viewing platforms.

Almost under each of the waterfalls there are small pools where you can swim. Unsuitable for swimming only one place - the foundation stage, due to the fact that there are very strong currents. More recently, there was built a swimming pool for tourists - "Agua Clara", which translates as "pure water." In parallel waterway in the woods with wooden paths with ladders on which you can walk. Along the way you will encounter a variety of shops with souvenirs. Above the highest waterfall there is a big playground where stop those who come here by car.

Forming an aqueous chain length of about one kilometer, Agua Azul falls into the broad river Shumulha.
