In the town of Severomorsk, a large central square is a monument to the heroes of the Maritime Severomorsk-or, as it is popularly called the monument "Alyosha." During the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War Severomorsk decided to erect a monument in memory of the fallen light frontline soldiers and friends. At this time, parts of the ships started collecting funds for the needs of the construction of the monument. The idea of building a monument was such that it could be seen from afar.

In mid-1945 there was the idea of a memorial lighthouse on the island of Greasy, which in addition to the aesthetic side, could point the way to sail ships and vessels. Gradually, the erection of the monument was raised to 5 million rubles, but in this case prevented the dire living conditions prevailing in the Navy, for which reason the People's Commissar of the Navy of Russia decided to pay a sum of money collected for the needs of capital construction.

Throughout the 1950s, the question of erecting a monument to BP was again raised. It is also supposed to be installed on the island of the sebaceous. As you progress the detailed design plan for the monument was decided to install a monument in the city of Severomorsk - the capital of the Northern Fleet, because this city is visited by almost all the sailors who come to serve in the Navy.

In this case an unprecedented contribution was made chief engineer-architect project officer severomorets checkers. Indeed, thanks to his ideas the erection of the monument and the Seaside area of the city, Severomorsk managed to get his main area of the seaside promenade, which is especially rarely done in various cities of our homeland, where port facilities are literally cut off the entire city from the sea.
