Sunnmøre Museum - is a beautiful ethnographic museum, located 4 km from the city of Aalesund on 120 acres of beautiful park landscape. The open-air museum, founded in 1931., Presents about 50 historic buildings that reflect the different periods of the city - from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the XX century.

Most visitors to the museum attracted a collection of boats of the Vikings, who at that time served as a means for survival. They were used for fishing and for the transport of goods, people and animals. Walking through the museum will allow you to see the church, models wooden houses and outbuildings, rural and fishing houses from different parts of Norway.

In the main building, located in the beautiful surroundings are interesting exhibitions on archeology and culture, telling about the life of people living in this region since ancient times.

The museum is open to the public only in the summer.
