Jura Museum - one of the most interesting museums in the small German town of Eichstätt. It is located in an ancient castle, on a rock overlooking the river Altmühl. In the center of the exhibition - the various fossils whose age is estimated at 150 million years. Equipping the museum can envy of many centers, because here in addition to the exposure, you can find a lot of modern features, up to 3D-tours.

Needless to say, that the spectacular shapes of dinosaurs, reptiles and fish cause now admired not only in adults but also in children, because the Jura Museum, as a rule, is entered in the mandatory program of excursions in the city. Thanks to modern engineering design where you can immerse yourself in the ancient world, learn a lot of new and interesting things about the life, the origin of the different species of animals. A special pride of the museum - aquarium inside which recreated the real coral reefs.

One of the founders of the museum is considered Franz Xaver Mayer - a priest and a passionate collector, a botanist by training and a romantic at heart. It is credited with the discovery of deposits in a German limestone, from which, in fact, began the creation of the museum. Today the Jura Museum boasts a truly unique collection of fossils, in addition, it conducted extensive scientific work.
