Polimsky Museum - one of the landmark of the town of Berane, which is located in the north-east of the country. The exhibits presented in the museum, were found in various archaeological excavations. It is known that the settlers occupied the area as early as 2300-1800 years BC, the so-called Bronze Age. This fact explains the diversity of the exhibits.

Museum exhibits reflect the different eras, clearly showing their shift. Neolithic pottery is a simple, unpretentious decorated with ornaments and patterns. For more recent archaeological finds are arrowheads, women's jewelery, copper and pottery. Since Montenegro has long been under the influence of Greek and Roman conquerors, the result was that the ancient culture has left a tangible mark on the history of this country.

In the Byzantine period, which is about the VI. BC ancient traditions continue to exist, but in a simplified form. In the VII century. BC the territory of modern Montenegro began to explore the Slavs. This period are archaeological artifacts such as: architectural fragments decorated with carved stone murals and household items.

All new archaeological objects and artifacts that manages to find during excavations near Berane, passed into the possession of the museum Polimskogo.

In addition, the museum aims to take part in the modern life of the city. More recently, it began to carry out the solemn rite of the wedding. The move comes as the administration hopes the museum will contribute to the revitalization and renewed interest in the ancient rituals and culture that will attract not only more tourists, but also locals.
