One of the oldest buildings surviving in the town of Sebezh, became the church of Life-Giving Trinity. It is located on a small hill and closes the prospect of a pre-existing streets in the part of Peter the Great, which goes directly to the Castle Mountain. Church of the Holy Trinity is a typical example of a provincial church, the baroque and survived to this day without any global rearrangements. In 1804 the building became the parish church. In hard times for Russia, namely in 1917, the church was closed. Many years later, from 1960 to 1970, in the building of the church it was a hostel, after which the church has turned into an ordinary grocery store. In 1985, the warehouse building had a strong fire, due to which almost completely burnt down the roof, and then building completely abandoned, and it became progressively deteriorate.
By the end of 1988 burnt and dilapidated building was transferred to the newly established Orthodox community. The gradual recovery was carried out on cash parishioners and non-repayable contributions enterprises not only the city but the region. The following year, the Archbishop of Pskov and Velikie Eusebius carried consecrated the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
In celebration of the 350th anniversary of the city of crosses and domes were covered in gold, and the building has been painted in a beautiful green color.
