Museum of the town of Kazanlak rose - a unique museum, the only one of its kind, it is dedicated, as the name implies, the culture of roses. It is located in the multi-building "of the Institute of the Rose". Not everyone knows that the rose is one of the symbols of Bulgaria. Rose Museum is part of the Museum of History of "Iskra". In 1967, it organized a small exhibition, the theme of which was the harvest of roses in Kazanlak and the surrounding area, and in 1969, this exhibition became an independent museum.

At present, the Museum of roses there are more than 15 000 exhibits, which are associated with the collection and growing flowers. Homeland oilseed rose is considered to be South China, this sort of rose was brought to Bulgaria by the Ottoman Turks. Some written sources say that the cultivation of oilseeds rose in the country on a commercial scale began with 1650. But in 1740 the French firm brought some of the first batch of Bulgarian rose oil, as in the period rose oil production in Bulgaria was considered the preferred raw material in the environment of the French perfumers.

The museum features original photographs and historical documents about the development of breeding roses, as well as some tools for working plantations of roses, various capacity to save and export of oil and water of roses. In addition, there is the reconstruction of a warehouse of oil rose and the first laboratory for the study of rose oil, which was founded in 1912. One of the most interesting museum exhibits is a vessel in which rose oil was the last time in 1947, but he still came the strong smell of flowers.

Harvesting Rose is still considered one of the most important events in the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria, it is traditionally accompanied by a variety of festivities. Every year the Rose Festival is held here - one of the most interesting festivals in Bulgaria, he began to celebrate in 1903, is celebrated annually on the first weekend of June - the time of flowering oilseed Kazanluk rose. The festival attracts thousands of tourists in Kazanlak, in the days of the festival held a great number of activities, such as harvesting roses demonstration "rozovareniya" International Folklore Festival, a festive parade and the crowning of the Rose Queen.
